Van Buren Township in Michigan is not found in geonames database when queried as a populated place.
https://secure.geonames.org/searchJSON?name_startsWith=Charter%20Township%20of%20Van%20Buren&q=Michigan&country=US&operator=and&featureCode=PPL&maxRows=50&type=json&username=xxxxx&style=full

This township is also known by other names that are not in the database. These should be added as alternate names such as

Van Buren Township
Van Buren Charter Township

Does a populated place exist of this name? I have the impression all buildings and addresses are part of Belleville. Van Buren looks more like an administrative construct. Does anybody refer to it with the meaning of a populated place?

Marc,

The populated place like that exists in Michigan. Here is the link to their website. https://vanburen-mi.org/. It also is the administrative division.

Could you fix this in the datbase?

Thanks,

Andy
