Hello,

I was wondering if there is anyway to make secure requests to the web services api via HTTPS?

This API is very useful but ideally i like to run HTTPS on my websites but can't for this reason without getting errors or the API just not loading.

Is there another way around this, or a webserver running https i can call for findNearestIntersectionOSM requests?

Thanks,
marc

I'm checking in on this to see if there is currently an issue or an intentional change of behavior. All requests made to https://secure.geonames.org/ with the registered (non-premium) user are being rejected with a call to register for a GeoNames Premium Web Service user.

Has the ssl endpoint for free services been removed, or is there currently an issue with the authentication of users on the secure servers?
