while invoking API mentioned below, we are receiving "Curl error: name lookup timed out"

http://api.geonames.org/findNearbyPostalCodes?postalcode=73301&maxRows=100&username=my_reg_username

if you click on link above, you might see a response, but when invoked through website, "inconsistently" we get the above mentioned error.

We would be thankful if anyone could help on this ASAP as our website is going live today...
