Hello,

The zip radius is still not returning accurate results. Here is my proof or example.

  • go here http://beta.acsbenefitservicesinc.com/states.html
  • Use filter to display IL and note ZIP codes in results.
  • You will see 62626, 60169, 60007.
  • Now filter by Zip code 60490 40 miles
  • You get 3 in result with debug results showing Zip code found : 60490, 60440, 60564, 60565, 60585 - http://beta.acsbenefitservicesinc.com/provider-directory/zip_60490,40.html?debug
  • Again note that 60169, 60007 are in Illinois and with 40 mile miles of 60490.
  • I check with this tool Find ZIP Codes Inside a Radius in 40 mile radius of 60490: https://www.freemaptools.com/find-zip-codes-inside-radius.htm
  • 60169 and 60007 are in results while 62626 is not as it is further than 40 miles.
  • However, 60169 and 60007 do not show up in our filter by Zip code 60490 40 miles results.

I'm trying to understand why we are missing zip codes in the search and how to make this more accurate for zip to zip searching.

    Hello,

I see not many posted questions get a reply. This forum seems kind of dead.

GeoNames postal codes seems like a good idea.

However, to use it in a commercial environment there should some kind of support or paid support to address issues.

I guess we'll look for another product to try. This one seemed promising.

    Hi Mike

It is difficult to find out what you are doing. Can you poste the exact queries? From your posting it is not even clear whether you are using geonames or some other service/data.

    Regards

    Marc
