I have updated the script:
* Added benderamp changes that removes 2 obsolete records from "countryinfo" dump image.

I enhanced this script to add the Foreign Keys after the data is loaded as well as running a 'vacuum analyze' on each table after it's loaded.
The vacuum analyze will help the query planner to use the primary key on geoname table when applying the FK constraint on the alternatename table.
I also tweaked the script to not try to unzip text files and adde the DROP TABLE IF EXIST to remove errors when it's run for the first time.
On my VM it can download and install all data in just under 15 minutes with these changes (before it took hours).

Update:
CountryCode has been introduced into TimeZone.
For me, alternatenames required a varchar(8000) in order to work.
