Hi,

We found some problems using the Geonames API were the data was incorrect. Users that were trying to locate their city which was missing, another was a duplicate city.Corrected two problems with locations in GeoNames for our province.

1) Lundbreck, Alberta, Canada, was erroneously marked as a Park, and we changed it to a city category (PPL), and added population.
2) Canmore was duplicated twice, removed the duplicate entry.

We used the maps interface to make the changes as per the user manual http://www.geonames.org/manual.html .

Problem is we did this last week and are not seeing the updates in the API, which we rely on.
1) How long does the changes to make it to the API?
2) Do we need to do any additional steps to update the API.
