hi list,

i am interested in the method of how the objects e.g. in http://sws.geonames.org/6465000/nearby.rdf are identified of being nearby another feature. is that based (1.) on a buffer calculation (e.g.: all objects within a certain distance of another object) or is it possible that the users of geonames can tag certain object as being nearby another object by theirselves or is there (3.) another method?

unfortuneately i could not find any hint in the documentation of geonames or any discussion within this forum earlier.

thanks + best regards,
stefan

Hi Stefan

It is just a distance function and it cannot be edited.

Best

Marc
