Hello -

According to Google (as well as the US government), "New York City" is not a place:

https://www.google.com/maps/place/New+York,+NY,+USA/@40.7056258,-73.97968,10z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m2!3m1!1s0x89c24fa5d33f083b:0xc80b8f06e177fe62

However in the geonames db it is names "New York City":
http://www.geonames.org/5128581/new-york-city.html

At the same time, we noticed that here it is named "New York":
http://www.geonames.org/US/NY/largest-cities-in-new-york.html

We believe it should the city name should be "New York".
Is there a reason why the data doesn't confirm to what the rest of the world uses? Is it something that can (or should) be fixed?

Thank you,
Doron
