I have noticed in yr.no (that's using your database) that the geographical naming convention for Sweden is inconsequent.

Examples:

- "Hässelby strand" (correct) and "Hässelby Strand" (incorrect)
- "Hässelby Villastad" should be "Hässelby villastad"
- "Hässelby gård" (correct!)

- "Gagnefs Kommun" should be "Gagnefs kommun"
- "Gagnef" (a place) should be "Gagnefs kyrkby"

Pls feel free to get back to me for a further explanation if req'd!

Christer

If I understand you correctly then the names should be written with lowercase in Swedish and uppercase in English/Internationalname?

For the main name we use international names and for local and other names there is a tab called 'alternate names'. Please feel free to add Swedish names for the places: http://www.geonames.org/manual.html

Yr.no will then use the correct name from the alternate names.

Best

Marc
