Haven't been able to reach the webservices today?
Is there a page where you can check the status of the services?

seems to be down most of the time now. Not very reliable

Just joined to confirm that yes, the service is down on my end as well.

Not very reliable or professional.

Perhaps these recent problems are related to this: http://geonames.wordpress.com/2009/01/25/what-to-do-against-ddos-effects/

If this happens again, I'll just go back to using the Google Maps API which is free for up to 15,000 daily queries.

Geez, complaining about lack of professionalism in a free webservice is bit off, isn't it?

However, services seem to be up and running perfectly right now, which I'm thankful for.

Here it is down since yesterday. The days before I didn't notice problems.
