how to delete an entry?  XML

I've tried to delete one entry of Sant Just Desvern (it's duplicated), but with no luck. It all proceeds normally (I think, I can add a comment for the deletion, and I enter "duplicated", and the dialog is closed without error), but the entry doesn't disappear.

What I could be doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

You aren't doing anything wrong. You just don't have enough privileges to delete this entry, but you should see an error message on the left hand side of the map. Which browser are you using?

I have added the alternate names from the other entry and deleted it.

Would you like to have more privileges?

Yes, please (I hope not to break anything with the new privileges!)

You have now the highest privileges. If you delete a duplicate entry just make sure all alternate names are in the remaining entry. Otherwise I don't think you can break anything.

I just tried to edit or delete an entry which is wrong.

As I understand, I'd need higher privileges for this task. Is this the way it should be done? I feel that some docu would be required here how to proceed.

It's Sande in GeoNameId : 2841895, which is claimed to be a German place, while it does match GeoNameId : 3140394 which is the real place in Norway.

I tried to edit 2841895 and was told
"error while saving: country code DE is not neighbouring to NO".

I tried to delete it and was told:
"error while saving:
You are not the owner of this name. You are not allowed to delete it."

This warning does not explain anything about privileges or how to procede afterwards.

Thanks, I have moved the Place to its correct position in Germany.

you changed the name?

I feel that most of it was correct, especially its different variations of the name - so it was the proper location, the proper names, but wrong by country and hierarchy.

There was another one close to it already - so it could be deleted as a duplicate.

The other Sande in Germany was given before - so you moved a duplicate entry towards another duplicate?
