Hi
Are you planning to add W3C's access-control (see http://www.w3.org/TR/access-control/) to enable client-side cross-site requests on geonames.org?
This way I could use geonames with xmlhttp and overcome the same origin policy of browsers (see http://developer.mozilla.org/En/Cross-Site_XMLHttpRequest).

I always wanted to say: geonames.org's webservices are very useful. Thanks a lot.

Hi

I may be wrong, but shouldn't it be the client-application to implement this specification and alllow geonames.org as additional resource? Otherwise a malicious site could declare itself safe and cause damage.

Best

Marc

Marc, you're completely right. Obviously I misunderstood the concept.
Thank your for bringing me back on the track.

Best to you too
