Hi, friends

I tried to get all the city names of a country by the following ways,

1) giving the lat and lng values of a country to cities web service
2) giving the geonameids to the children web service

But even now also i am not able to get all city names respect to the country name.

Any one can help me to solve this problem.

My actual requirement is getting all the city names of a country.

Thanks in advance....

Waiting for reply...

Please use the download files: http://download.geonames.org/export/dump/
It is not only unefficient, but also considered rude to abuse the web service to download the full data base. All information is included in the dump files.

I have deleted your other identical post. Please do not spam this forum with identical postings.

I have tried the above solution, i have downloaded the cities15000.txt .

I have used the Bulk Insert command which i got from this forum, even now also no success.

Here is my query

BULK INSERT city FROM 'C:\Documents and Settings\ssis3\Desktop\cities15000\cities15000.txt' WITH (FIELDTERMINATOR='\t',ROWTERMINATOR=' ' ).

And can you please help me what are all the column names i have to put in that city table.

Can any one help me how can i retrieve this geonames data into our sql server 2005.

Thanks in advance
